State College Food Bank Food Drive

State College Food Bank Food Drive in Progress Now...

Please help us fill the bag and fill bellies with healthy foods! The State College Food Bank has an updated list of needs and here at KBB, we're going to do our best to help them meet these needs!  Their list is below and if you would like to contribute, please bring your donations to our office at 2300 S Atherton St in State College Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm.  We'll be bringing our collection to the Food Bank on December 8th and would love to include a contribution from you (if your means permit).  See the bottom of the page for a short history of the State College Food Bank and thank you in advance for your help!

  • GREATEST need is ready-to-serve soups (i.e. Progresso, Campbells, etc.).
  • Pasta Sauce
  • Tomato Products (diced, stewed, paste, sauce, etc.)
  • Canned Fruit ( peaches, pears, pineapple, applesauce)

How fortunate we are to live in this vibrant caring community! There are so many local non-profits doing good and necessary work for the benefit of others. We're trying to make it easy for anyone who wants to help to do just that. This month, we're happy to take donations for the State College Food Bank. Stop in to either KBB office from 8:30-5:00. Addresses are 2300 S Atherton St and 1612 N Atherton St. At the moment, their needs are:

  • Homestyle Soups (Progresso, Chunky, heat-and-serve styles)
  • Canned Tuna and Canned Chicken
  • Tomato Product (diced, paste, sauce, stewed, pasta sauce, etc.)
  • Canned Fruit
  • Spaghetti
  • Peanut Butter
  • Jelly or Jam
  • Pancake/Baking...

Penn State Alumni Help Penn State Students

Hintz Family Donates to the Penn State Student Care and Advocacy Emergency Fund.  

Ed & Helen Hintz, prominent alumni of Penn State University, responded generously to the campaign for Penn State students who are struggling financially during the coronavirus pandemic.  They have donated $100,000 which is the largest gift as of this writing.  Presently, the fund has raised $404,646 with almost 1900 supporters.  If Penn State is near and dear to your heart and you want to help, we provide the link below.  

Penn State President, Eric Barron notes "The generosity of the Hintz family will also affirm that no Penn Stater is along and that our community remains strong, united and supportive of each other, even in difficult times."  He notes that the Hintz family has a history of supporting Penn State students.
